Asia Confectionery 'Siew Pow Master'

Many people loves Seremban Siew Pau. Personally I prefer Siew Pau from Asia Confectionery. And I also tried their egg tart this time as I saw it was freshly baked from oven.

Have a look :)

Restaurant Tow Kee

If you tried this Hakka Mee, you won't want to eat those in KL. My collegue brought me here as Seremban is her hometown. 1 thing weird about this restaurant is the owner's attitude, the old couple will take their own sweet time to cook and clean the table. So make sure you have enough patience if you really wanna try this. :) Else you can just go off, and you won't be surprise actually many customers can wait...just like me.... Waited for long is worth if the food is good.

Besides Hakka Mee, they also sell silver needle noodle aka 'Lou Shu Fun'. Taste good too.

Restaurant Tow Kee is located along the roadside behind Maybank
Because this restaurant is located at along the roadside, therefore it is quite difficult to find parking. If you're lucky enough, you might get a parking in front of Maybank.

Malacca Jonker Street Chicken Rice Ball

Before this I have tried Chung Wah Chicken Rice Ball and Hoe Kee Chicken Rice Ball, so this time I choose a new restaurant to try. I wanna know what is the difference...

Have a look.....

Ginger

Chili

Chicken Rice Balls

Chicken
The key is the CHICKEN... Their chicken is not as tender as other 2 famous chicken rice ball shop. And the soy sauce also play an important role. The chicken failed.

Char Siew
As you can see from the photos, char siew too fat and no sweetness at all. Failed.

Fried Egg with Bean Curd
I think the only thing that I am satisfied with is this fried egg with Japanese beancurd with the special black sauce.

For my opinion, Chung Wah and Hoe Kee so successful because they really focus on CHICKEN, unlike this shop, too many other dish like char siew, roast pork, fried egg with beancurd. So I guess, they are not focus enough, ended up chicken taste not good and char siew taste bad.

No second visit.

Popiah In Front Of Madam King's

This popiah stall sells popiah with crispy pork lard. I have queued for 40 minutes for this popiah, and I felt satisfied and worth :):):)

Long Queue

No 24
A little tip for you guys, when you reached there, don't queue blindly... Go there and tell them how many you want then get your number. :)

The stall is actually quite messy and dirty as you can see from the photo. But since everyone telling me 'must try' so no harm go for it! ;)

The popiah tastes good, popiah skin not too thick and juicy. Very yummy especially when you bite the crispy pork lard. So far is the best popiah I ate in Malacca. ^^

According to food bloggers, Medan Makan Bunga Raya famous of fried oyster omelette (Or Jian). Oe of my favorite food, of course I have to check it out!!! :)

Medan Makan Bunga Raya

Uncle is frying egg with the special chili paste

RM 6 per pack
Yes... It is RM 6 per pack. There is no table and chair for you to enjoy.

Fried Oyster Omelette (Or Jian)
To me, this Or Jian taste good because of the chili paste is nice, but the oysters are overcooked.

Medan Makan Bunga Raya located at:

Jalan Bunga Raya (Same row as Madam King's)

Business Hours:

I am not so sure, but that day I went there at 7.30 pm, they just started to open stall.... So I guess they open late evening till midnight.

Donald & Lily's

Donald & Lily's is another restaurant that serves Nyonya cuisine. I knew this restaurant through other food bloggers. Many said their Mee Siam is superb and must try, of course I didn't miss this opportunity taste it... But unfortunately it was so disappointed. I think people overrated Donald & Lily's.

I only ordered cendol, Tau Kua and Mee Siam because they only left these 3 dish on that evening.

Yes... you got to go upstairs for seats...

Cendol
The cendol is too sweet... Not enjoy at all... Any cendol stall in Jonker Street would better than this... If you don't believe, can go ahead to try :)

Tau Kua (Nyonya style Rojak)
Tau Kua is Nyonya style rojak consist of bean curd, fish cake, cucumber and pineapple with rojak sauce... Not a special dish but can try.

Mee Siam
This is a very disappointed Mee Siam. Too watery. Really nothing much can comment. Sigh...

Really disappointed...Maybe other dishes may taste better, if you guys happen to try this restaurant and it taste good, do let me know. Maybe I will consider to give a 2nd chance to this restaurant. :)

Nancy's Kitchen

My first try Peranakan Food (Nyonya Cuisine) at Nancy's Kitchen and I am quite satisfied although I have waited 30 minutes for them to open. At least, I am their 1st customer of that day ^^

Lets check what I've ordered... :)

Nancy's Kitchen

Nancy's Kitchen Menu in front of the restaurant

Pie Tee (Top Hat)
Ok...This Pie Tee is nice... can order as your starter if you like :) ....

Close-up shot of Pie Tee

Popiah (Spring Roll)
Popiah skin is a bit too thick and not much filling... This 1 can be skipped.... Let's see what is next...

Sup Itik Tim
Sup Itik Tim also known as duck with salted vegetable soup. According to Nancy's menu, duck soup cooked on slow heat with salted vegetable and white wine, giving the taste of sourish to the dish. :):):) Nice try :)

Deep Fried Squid
Normal dish which I think you guys can skip. Go for more authentic Nyonya dish will be a great choice.

Cincalok Omelette
Fried egg with fermented shrimp (cincalok). It is a simple and nice dish to those who loves cincalok. :)

Babi Pongteh
My favorite dish among all...  Babi Pongteh is pork with bean paste. Sounds like pork in slated yellow bean cooked with preserved soya bean with dark sweet soya sauce (kicap manis), sugar and other ingredients to create a combination of sweet and savoury taste. Inside there are also potatoes and black mushroom. It is great to eat with white rice. Bravo :):):)

Sek Bak
Sek Bak is Peranakan Braised Pork, where pork is marinated with lemon grass, cinnamon bark, infused with various spices and simmer for hours with black soy sauce. As for serving, pork is cut in thin slices, bean curd and hard boiled egg. As you can see from the photo, this dish is a bit too oily.

Onde - Onde

Ang Ku with green bean filling

Pulut Inti

The Nyonya kuih is beautifully made and is very fresh. Erm... I would say besides the colorful Ang Ku, you won't regret with the Nyonya kuih especially their Onde - Onde...Hm.. I miss it so much...

Great restaurant that I will visit again for sure to try out others in their menu :)
